no exception. With 961 participants, we had a great turn out and were able to raise $41,000
for the Cancer Center! The success of this event always depends on the participation of the
community and we want to give special thanks to the teams who participate year after year as
well as those who started this year:
- Team Hope
- Team Rosemary
- Team Wolfie
- Archbishop Prendergast High School
- Monsignor Bonner High School
- Marple High School Field Hockey
- Drug Runners
- Ambulatory Dysfunctions
- Team Shark
- Team Powder
Thank you to everyone who participated and we will see you next year on Saturday, September 25, 2010!
A special thank to event co-chairs Maureen Lucas and Karen Doherty for another great year.
Over the past 18 years Eagle National Bank employees and sponsors have raised close to half a million
dollars to benefit the Delaware County Regional Cancer Center, an accredited comprehensive cancer
center and member of the Fox Chase Crozer-Keystone Cancer Partnership. The facility provides the most
advanced diagnostic and treatment services available in a patient-centered environment close to home.
The Walk/Run is a five kilometer course through the beautiful neighborhood of Drexel Park, starting
and ending at Delaware County Memorial Hospital.

Eagle National Bank Raises Over $40,000
From 17th Annual Walk/Run To Benefit Delaware County
Memorial Hospital's Regional Cancer Center
|
|
In spite of a somewhat inclement day, more than 750 enthusiastic people came out in support of Eagle
National Bank's 5K Walk/Run on Saturday, September 27, 2008. This annual event which is in its 17th,
year supports the Delaware County Memorial Hospital's Regional Cancer Center, an accredited
comprehensive cancer center and member of the Fox Chase Crozer-Keystone Cancer partnership. The
facility provides the most advanced diagnostic and treatment services available. Since its inception
in 1992 the walk/run has raised over $430,000 for the Cancer Center, enabling them to provide their
cancer patients with state-of-the-art facilities and treatment interventions, so they can lead long
and healthy lives.
In addition to the walk/run, the event included a health and wellness fair, refreshments, give-aways
and local celebrities and mascots. We would like to extend a huge thank you to David Murphy, Channel 6
News, for his faithful interest and very witty moderation of the event for the past eleven years. Nearly
85% of the Bank's employees participate every year and this event would not be possible without the hard
work and dedication of the many volunteers, in particular Maureen Lucas and Karen Gardner-Doherty, managers of
the Bank's Upper Darby and Lansdowne branches, respectively.
